With a number of children and adults competing at rated and local shows, Hunter Ridge is open to all levels of equestrian interest and levels. Our staff focuses their attention on training beginners through advanced riders in horsemanship and equine care, personalizing programs to meet the needs of each horse and rider.

During the academic year, the URI Equestrian Team trains at our facility. We also host a competitive IEA team that has advanced to Nationals on multiple occassions. Hunter Ridge also runs several horse shows on site every year.

Our Staff

Wendy Brayman, a 34-year veteran in the equine industry as well as a NEHC-rated judge, has owned Hunter Ridge since 1992. She enjoys teaching adults and children at any and all skill levels. She prides herself in training riders to ribbons at competitions in Harrisburg, Washington, Pony Finals, Devon, and the Hampton Classic. She has helped riders to achieve goals including USEF Horse of the Year with Tippy Hedron in the Small Pony Hunters. Wendy’s philosophy is that hard work and good horsemanship are the factors of success in this sport.

Samantha Craig, a 2009 graduate of Delaware Valley University, has been with Hunter Ridge since 2009. Sam is the barn manager and assistant trainer. She enjoys managing the competitive IEA team, as well as running the Hunter Ridge show series.

Madison Brayman returned to Hunter Ridge in 2024 as a Pro Rider and Assistant Trainer. Madison grew up riding with her mother Wendy at Hunter Ridge, competing in the hunter and equitation on ponies and horses as a child. She finished National USEF Small Pony Hunter Champion on Tippy Hedron in 2006. Madison went on to work and ride with many top professionals such as John Brennan and Missy Clark, Peter Leone, and Jennifer Alfano. While riding with these trainers Madison went on to have top ribbons in the 3’6 Equitation at prestigious shows such as Devon, Lake Placid, WEF, and the Hampton Classic and competed at all the major Equitation Finals. Madison also competed in the NCEA in college, both at NMSU and USC. She was selected 1st Team All American in 2016 and 2017 and was the USC Captain in 2018. Madison has spent time managing farms and training young horses in the past years and is excited to bring her knowledge and skills to our riders at Hunter Ridge!
